November: Understated Elegance

There is something about November I love. It’s such an understated time of year. Before the rush of Christmas, after the fun of Halloween, it’s a time for reflection, for wild seas and stormy skies, burnt orange leaves underfoot and a romantic feel as the nights draw in earlier. Some of the best venues for this time of year include manor houses and country mansions with sweeping drives, acres of grounds and roaring fires. I love the idea of sashaying down an original staircase in a breathtaking gown to a candlelit aisle. One of my favourite winter wedding venues is The Alverton – I can never get over the beauty of that drive as you arrive and the magnificence of The Great Hall is simply awe-inspiring.

My dress of the month for November is about winter romance and understated elegance, it had to be Grace. With a simple and oh-so-flattering cut, a ruched bodice and a flowing staircase-gracing worthy skirt, this dress needs no bells or whistles, it screams silver screen glamour.
